The 2015 Ford Edge is known for having issues with lubricant leaks, as indicated in a bulletin from the NHTSA. These leaks are caused by defective threads on the oil pressure sensor, which can result in oil leakage. This problem also applies to the F-150 and only affects vehicles with 2.7-liter gas engines using direct injection technology in the Edge, manufactured on or before July 1, 2015. To check if your vehicle is impacted, take it to the nearest dealership with the VIN number. The repair involves an inspection by a certified dealer and the replacement of the oil pressure sensor. This replacement is covered at no cost under Ford's limited new-vehicle warranty, in accordance with the Ford TSB.
A 2015 Ford Edge experiencing an oil leak could indicate various issues, like a loose oil drain plug, a loose spark plug, or potentially a damaged gasket in the vehicle.
