To replace the battery in a 2018 Ford Escape, you will need a new Group Size 96R, 590 CCA battery which costs between $100 and $200 depending on the brand and store. First, open the hood and prop it open with the rod. Locate the battery on the driver side. Remove the air box by unscrewing the 4 8mm bolts and taking out the air filter. Then, detach the bottom part of the box and the connected hose. Using a prying tool, disconnect the black wiring from the battery, then remove the positive wire. This will allow you to access and replace the battery by reversing the steps.
