The blend door actuator in a 2014 Ford Escape can be found beneath the dashboard inside the cabin. This component, a compact motor, plays a key role in regulating the air temperature and airflow within the HVAC system. If you notice issues like fluctuating heat, strange noises from the dashboard, or problems with the HVAC unit, it may be a sign that the actuator is failing. To get to the actuator in the Escape, you'll need to take out the driver's side dash panel positioned to the right of the steering wheel. The actuator, which looks like a small black plastic box with a cable connection at the bottom, is fastened in place with at least two screws. Its cable is plugged into the unit and can typically be reached from the footwell area, positioned up under and behind the stereo head unit.
Do you have any photos or more information on how to accomplish this task? Can you explain how to remove the dashboard panel on the driver's side?
I appreciate it.
