If the airbag light is on in your Chevrolet Aveo, the first step you should take is to figure out why. Use an OBD-II scan tool to check for any codes being thrown by the car; the illuminated airbag light could indicate a serious problem that poses a risk of severe injury or even death in case of an accident. Additionally, you can use the OBD-II scan tool to reset the light if necessary. Many of these tools come with SRS functionality, so while you're connected to the car, access the SRS module and follow the on-screen instructions to reset the light. It's a quick and simple process that should take no longer than five minutes.
Insert the key into the ignition and twist it to the on position. Once the airbag indicator illuminates and then turns off, switch it back to the off position and pause for 3 seconds. Carry out this process again once or twice.
