To reset the oil life light in your 2005 Ford Freestyle, follow these simple steps that only take a few minutes. After completing any maintenance work, turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Find the SETUP button on the left side of the steering wheel controls, located between the RESET and INFO buttons. Press SETUP until you see PRESSRESET TO SYSTEM CHECK. Hold RESET until OIL LIFE XX% HOLD RESET NEW appears. Press and hold RESET again until you see IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET. Hold the button until OIL LIFE SET TO 100% is displayed. The light should now turn off. Turn off the ignition and then start the vehicle to ensure the reset is saved and the light remains off.
