As the proud owner of a 2018 Subaru Outback, it's important to keep up with regular oil changes. Typically, you should schedule this every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. After getting your oil changed, don't forget to reset the oil warning light on your dashboard. This process is quick and simple, taking just 2 to 4 minutes of your time. Start by turning the ignition to the "on" position without starting the engine. Use the controls on the left side of the steering column to navigate to the maintenance menu. Then, press the i/set switch downwards to reset the oil light, making it disappear.
To turn off the change oil light, first turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Use the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to navigate to the maintenance menu. Once there, pull the i/set switch towards you to reset. The screen will confirm the reset, then you can turn off the ignition.
To begin, turn the ignition key to the on position without starting the engine. If you have a smart key, push the start button without pressing the brake pedal. Look for the control switch on the steering wheel and use it to navigate to the information screen. Press the info button briefly until you reach the guidance screen, then press and hold the info button to access the settings menu. Scroll down to choose maintenance, then select engine oil/oil filter. Use the control switches to set the date and distance for the reminder. Press set to exit the settings. Turn off the car and restart it to confirm the changes.
