Many Prius drivers have noted that the most common reason behind a red triangle light is a battery issue. The diagnostic codes P0A80 and P3000 usually show up in such cases. The P300 code specifically relates to the Prius' battery control system. When this code appears, it typically points to a problem with the HV battery's ECU. If the battery reports inconsistent temperatures for cells, the red triangle warning will appear along with a P0A80 code. Despite the hybrid battery pack containing 204 cells, just one failing cell is enough to trigger the code, indicating that the battery may soon need to be replaced.
To clear the red triangle warning light on a Toyota Prius, you can reset it by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
My 2012 Prius made a loud popping sound when I tried to start it, and then all the power in the car suddenly went out.
