To disengage the 4WD on the Toyota Sequoia, find the 4WDemand knob and turn it until it is set at 4L. You should receive a confirmation message on either the car's digital panel or instrument panel. If the 4LO and VSC OFF lights illuminate, it indicates that the vehicle is no longer in 4-wheel drive. To switch back, use the same knob to select the desired setting. The car also provides a 2-wheel drive option. For a better understanding of this process, refer to your owner's manual, which contains a thorough explanation of each mode and how to activate them.
To activate 4-wheel drive on the Toyota Sequoia, first, reduce your speed to under 62 mph, then turn the knob to 4H. If the temperature outside is below 5°F, slow down to under 43 mph before making the switch. You'll notice the 4HI indicator on the instrument display, and if it blinks, it means 4HI hasn't engaged yet. Keep driving straight, varying your speed until the system locks in.
