During the day, the daytime running lights in the Nissan Maxima serve both as an accessory and a safety feature. They enhance visibility for other drivers while you're driving and also give the Maxima a unique style. These DRL lights are designed to remain on until sensors detect the need for headlights. If you want to turn them off or deactivate their automatic function, simply engage the parking brake. Unfortunately, there is no direct button to permanently switch off the DRLs, but some have successfully removed the 10-amp fuse associated with them in the engine bay. To activate the high beams, headlights, and fog lamps, use the control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel. Opting for the "auto" setting will turn on the headlights without requiring any action from the driver. It's important to keep the passenger side of the top dashboard clear of debris as this is where the exterior light sensors are situated.
The running lights cannot be turned off.
Rotate the dial to the left side of the steering column in your direction to switch off the headlights.
