If the indicator is blinking, it means the system is not functioning correctly, and you should get your vehicle serviced promptly to prevent transmission damage. Whether you should utilize the tow/haul feature depends on the cargo weight and the driving terrain. If you are driving on a mostly flat highway, you may discover that activating tow/haul is unnecessary and could even decrease your fuel efficiency.
