To jump-start your 2005 Chevy Equinox, first find the release button in the center of the hood and press it to unlock the latch. Use the support in the engine bay to hold the hood open. The battery is on the right side of the car, near the firewall, inside a black box. Look for the positive battery node under a red "+" symbol. Remove the plastic cover and attach the positive jumper cable to this node. For the negative connection, link the other cable end to the metal frame at the front of the bay to ground the connection. Once both cables are connected to the charging vehicle and the Equinox, turn on the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. After that, try starting your Chevy.
Here is a revised version: Wiring and cords.
To get your 2005 Chevy Equinox running, first find the ground located near the front of the engine. Take off the cover from the battery terminal with the positive plus sign. Next, join the red clamp of the jumper cable to the positive battery terminal on both cars. Attach the black clamp of the jumper cable to the ground. Finally, start up the vehicle.
