The tire pressure sensor in your Hyundai Sonata does exactly what it says - it monitors tire pressure and alerts you to any underinflated tires. When the sensor detects low pressure, a warning light on the dashboard will illuminate. To address this, you'll need to inflate the tire to the correct psi and then reset the sensor for it to function properly. To reset it, you can either drive the car at speeds over 50mph for around 10 minutes or manually reset it by turning the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Next, press and hold the TPMS button beneath the steering wheel until the light blinks three times, then release. Finally, start the car and let it run for 20 minutes to fully refresh the sensor.
I can't locate the button situated beneath the steering wheel.
In 2009, I was so frustrated trying to find that button! It seemed like there was almost no information available online about it.
I own a 2020 model and attempted to do that, but it didn't work. Could you please send me a brief video showing how it's done?
To recalibrate the tire pressure sensor on the Hyundai Sonata, just press and hold the reset button until you see the TPMS light on the dashboard blink slowly three times.
I also own a 2020 model, but the solution provided didn't help. Can anyone offer some advice?
