The blend door actuator in the 2008 Ford Taurus can break and stop working due to the plastic internal gears that are designed to absorb impact to prevent a more serious break. When one or more gears break, you may hear a loud clicking noise, and the function may not work properly. Fortunately, replacing the actuator is an easy and affordable process. You can purchase a replacement part for about $25 to $30, and you'll only need basic tools like an 8mm socket, ratchet, and extension. After removing the glove box, you'll see the blend door actuator on the left side. Simply disconnect the electrical connector and remove the two bolts to replace it with the new part in the same way.
