How can I open the hood of a Subaru Forester?

To pop the hood on a Subaru Forester, start by sitting in the driver's seat and pulling the hood release lever located on the bottom left side of the dashboard. Look for the symbol indicating the lever's location on the kick panel – it shows a car with its hood up. After pulling the lever underneath, you'll hear the hood release. Next, step out of the Forester and pull the hood release latch to the left to fully open the hood. Unlike some cars, this latch isn't in the hood opening gap; it's inside the grille near the emblem on the right side.
