To reset the tire pressure sensors on a 2016 Chevy Silverado, you will need a TPMS relearn tool, which can typically be rented for around $20 a day from most auto parts stores. First, make sure all tires are inflated to the correct pressure and turn the ignition to the on position. Then, use the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to navigate to the tire pressure display. Press and hold the set/reset button for approximately 5 seconds until the horn honks twice and the message on the driver info screen says "Tire Learning Active." Next, take the TPMS tool to the front driver's side tire, hold it near the valve stem, and activate it to scan for the sensor, which will then be recognized by the system. Repeat this process for all the tires on the vehicle to complete the relearn procedure.
Here's a paraphrased and unique version: To recalibrate the tire pressure sensor on a 2016 Chevy Silverado, simultaneously press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob until the truck emits a honking sound.
I don't have a key fob.
By either inflating the tires or driving for at least one mile with the new sensor, the system will reset automatically.
