To reset the alarm on a 2006 Kia Sedona, you have two choices. First, you can open the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable, leaving it disconnected for around 30 minutes. This will drain power from the CPU, prompting the system to reset itself when it restarts. Alternatively, you can remove a specific fuse from the fuse box and wait a similar amount of time. This method will have a more focused effect. Disconnecting the battery will reset multiple functions, while pulling just the fuse will only reset the alarm. Be sure to consult the fuse diagram to identify the correct fuse.
To reinitialize the anti-theft system on a 2006 Kia Sedona, make sure all the doors are closed, roll up the windows, lock the door using the key in the driver's side lock, and leave it for a minimum of 10 minutes before unlocking it in the same manner.
Head over to the relay block and remove the starter relay. Insert a temporary wire with a push-button switch between the 30 and 87 terminals on the relay block. Then, use the push-button switch to start the vehicle while the ignition switch is on. This method bypasses the anti-theft feature and sends power straight to the starter. Once the vehicle is running, take out the temporary wire and switch along with the relay. Since the problem happens occasionally, keep the temporary wire in the glove compartment along with a flashlight.
