My 2010 Ford Fusion recently stopped blowing cool air intermittently, and now it's switching to hot air completely. It seems like the issue is with the blend door actuator. I noticed that if I adjust the temperature knob to halfway between cold and hot, then quickly back to cold, it blows cold air for a short while before switching back to hot. It could also be a problem with the HVAC control module, which is more costly and tricky to replace. I've ordered a new actuator from Amazon, which should arrive in a few days. In the meantime, since it's still hot in Georgia, I disconnected power from the actuator under the steering wheel to prevent it from shifting to hot when I start the car. This quick fix has kept the air conditioner blowing cold while I wait for the new actuator to arrive. Looks like I'll be driving without the actuator for a few days without any issues.
