If you own a 2008 Jeep Patriot, you might come across the bothersome check engine light. Once you've addressed the root problem, which could be related to malfunctioning parts, faulty wiring, or failing components, you'll need to reset it. To do this, start by opening the driver's side door and getting in. Then, turn the ignition to the "on" or "run" setting three times. Finally, start your engine, and the check engine light should disappear from your dashboard.
