To turn off the oil change reminder on your 2016 Ford Focus, start by applying the parking brake. Next, turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the car. Then, simultaneously press the gas and brake pedals for around 25 seconds. Maintain pressure on the pedals until you see a notification indicating "Service Oil Reset Complete." Once you see this message, you can release the pedals, and the oil light should be cleared. You're all set to go.
You can reset the oil indicator light by going into the menu, finding the oil life percentage option, and pressing and holding the button to execute it.
Turn on the ignition without actually starting the vehicle. Depress both the gas and brake pedals simultaneously and maintain the pressure for 20 seconds. The car will indicate when the reset is completed.
Just turn the key to the on position, press on the gas and brake pedals at the same time. It's easy!
I've attempted that, but I continue to hear the same warning sound and see the oil light on even after changing the oil.
I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, but my light is still not resetting. What should I do next?
Start the car without actually starting the engine, then press both the gas pedal and the brake pedal simultaneously. This action will reset everything and you'll be all set.
