Resetting the oil life indicator on your 2017 Subaru Outback is a simple process. To begin, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position without starting the engine. If you have a keyless system, press the start engine button twice. Next, press the gas pedal down and release it three times consecutively, with about a one-second pause between each press. After completing this, turn off the vehicle's power and restart it. The oil life indicator should now be reset.
To clear the oil life alert or maintenance indicator in your 2017 Subaru Outback, simply turn the ignition switch to the "on" position and press the gas pedal slowly three times. Then, start your car, and the oil warning should show as reset.
I have a 2017 Outback with the Subaru Starlink system, and I managed to reset the oil and filter reminder on the screen by selecting the options manually. In the "Info" - "Maintenance" menu, I could adjust the upcoming change dates and mileage countdown for various routine maintenance tasks.
