To reset the oil service light on a 2011 Subaru Outback, start by sitting in the driver's seat with all doors closed. Turn the key in the ignition to the RUN position before starting the engine. Locate the INFO button on the lower left side of the steering wheel controls. Press the INFO button to display the SETTINGS option. Scroll through the options until you see MAINTENANCE, then select SET. Within the MAINTENANCE menu, find ENGINE OIL and choose SET. Scroll to the UPDATE option, select SET, and the engine oil life will reset to 100 percent. Turn off the ignition and start the vehicle to confirm that the reset has been saved.
To turn off the oil light in a 2011 Subaru Outback, all you have to do is drive for 5 miles. The light will reset once the car reaches its normal operating temperature.
