To reset the oil light on the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, start by ensuring you are parked safely. Then, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "run" position twice. Confirm it's in the run position by checking that the dashboard lights, radio, and odometer are on without starting the engine. Afterward, press the gas pedal three times within five seconds while monitoring the dashboard lights. The oil light will flash twice and then reset. Remember to repeat this process after every oil change. It's recommended to change the oil and oil filter every 10,000 miles or approximately every 12 months.
