When changing the oil, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to prevent burning yourself on the hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the engine compartment. Place a bucket beneath the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain. Let it drain completely, which might take about an hour. Once it stops dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Using a funnel, fill the oil pan to the full level, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and burn off. After filling it up, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
