I assume you have already changed your oil with synthetic SAE 5W-30, and you are not just clearing the service light out of annoyance. Let's make it disappear for another 5,000 miles. Sit in your vehicle and turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Go to the Settings menu, then choose the Service option. Look for the Reset option, select it, and press OK. Confirm the reset by pressing OK again. Turn off the ignition. When you turn it back on, the service light on your 2017 Volkswagen Golf should be reset.
To reset the oil light in a 2017 VW Golf, first turn off the car. Next, press and hold the 0,0 button. Turn the ignition to the on position without starting the engine, then let go of the 0,0 button. Finally, press and let go of the minute set button labeled "min" on the clock, and the system will be reset.
