In order to maintain the accuracy of your 2018 VW Passat's oil change indicator, it's important to reset the oil change light after each oil change. Failure to do so could lead to premature notifications for another oil change. Resetting the light is a quick process that can be completed in a few simple steps. Start by turning the ignition on without starting the engine. Next, press the accelerator pedal to the floor three times within five seconds. After doing this, you will see the oil light flash and then reset. You can then turn off the ignition, knowing that the procedure is complete.
Jerrie has provided the wrong answer. To reset, press and hold the "0.0/set" button with the key turned off. Then, while still holding the button, turn the key to the "on" position. A message will appear on your dashboard display, allowing you to reset.
Press the set button on the display, then start the ignition without starting the vehicle. The dashboard will prompt you to test the oil life. Press okay to proceed. It is complete.
I apologize that it didn't work. Perhaps the sensor needs to be replaced? Do you know where the sensor is located?
