To turn off the oil service light in a 2017 Volkswagen Passat, you have two options. The first, and easier if you have the right tools, is to use a scan tool with oil life reset capabilities. Simply follow the onscreen instructions and press a few buttons to complete the process. If you don't have a scan tool, you can still reset the light manually. Close all doors and windows, turn off the engine, then press and hold the "0.0/SET" button while turning the ignition to the on position without starting the engine. Wait for the spanner light to stop flashing, release the "0.0/SET" button, and press the button on the left side of the instrument cluster.
To reset the oil light in a 2017 VW Passat, first turn off the ignition. Then, press and hold the 0,0 button on the right side of the instrument cluster. Next, turn the ignition on (without starting the engine) and press the 0,0 button again. Press the double square button on the left side of the instrument cluster only. Turn off the ignition, turn it back on, and return to the "fuel life" panel to check if the indicator has been reset.
