To reset the tire pressure on a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic or any model from 2012 to 2019, follow these steps. First, ensure you are parked with the engine off and confirm the tire pressure is between 35 to 38 psi. Drive the Sonic at or above 20 mph for a bit, then park and press the start/stop button for over five seconds without pressing the brake pedal. Locate the turn signal and use the menu button to access the "VEHICLE" menu. Scroll with the thumbwheel to find "Tire Pressure" and press the SET/CLR button twice. Proceed by activating the TPMS sensor with a relearn tool for each tire. Finally, power the car off and then back on.
Inflate the tire with air.
To recalibrate the tire pressure monitoring system in your 2012 Chevy Sonic car, follow these steps: First, switch the ignition key to the "on" position and press the TPMS button, which is typically found beneath the dashboard, until the TPMS light flashes repeatedly. Next, start your car and allow it to idle for at least 20 minutes to complete the reset process of the TPMS system.
