To reset the tire pressure monitoring system on your 2016 Kia Optima, you can find the reset button in either the glove box or below the steering wheel. Before resetting the light, be sure to check that all four tires have the correct pressure. If you have rotated the tires, you may need to reset the system, unless it does so automatically. To start the resetting process, engage the parking brake, turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine, and locate and hold down the reset button until the TPMS light blinks three times. It may take a few minutes for the sensors to communicate with the ECU. Drive the vehicle for 30 minutes to complete the reset. If you are resetting the light due to a sensor replacement, you will need to individually reset each tire using a scan tool connected to the OBDII port.
To recalibrate the tire pressure sensor in the 2016 Kia Optima, first turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine. Find the TPMS reset button underneath the steering wheel. Press and hold the button until the light flashes three times and then remains steady. Once it stops flashing, start the engine and let the car run for 20 minutes.
