To reset the alarm on a 2005 Ford Freestyle, there are two ways to do it. The first option is to open the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable, leaving it off for approximately 30 minutes. This will drain the power from the CPU, prompting the system to reset next time it turns on. The second option is to remove a specific fuse from the fuse box and wait for a similar amount of time. This method will target only the alarm system. If you disconnect the battery, it will reset multiple things, but if you choose the fuse method, you must refer to the fuse diagram to find the correct fuse to pull.
Turn the first key to the "off" position, take it out of the ignition, and then insert the second programmed key within 5 seconds.
Where is the location of the fuse?
