If the battery in your 2014 Ford Escape's key fob dies, don't worry - there's a workaround for starting your vehicle. Simply place the key near the steering column on the right side, hold it there, press the brake pedal, and then press the engine start button. The car should start even with a dead key fob battery. Once you've started the vehicle, you can drive to get a replacement battery. The key fob takes a CR2032 watch battery, which can be found at most retail stores for around $5 to $7 regardless of the brand.
I get what Jessy S is saying, but I haven't been able to locate the specific "mechanical key slot" he mentioned yet.
To operate a 2014 Ford Escape using your key fob as a key, just insert the inactive fob into the mechanical key slot and press the start button to begin the engine.
Swapping out the battery in your key fob is a simple solution to the problem.
I will make an attempt.
