For most Ford Rangers, these instructions should work, but older models may vary. To start, use a 7/32-inch socket to remove the screw at the back of the flare near the front and closest to the cab. Then, take out the 6 pins located underneath the fender flares by inserting a fastener remover between the pin and the flare to pry them out. Once you've dealt with the pins, choose one end and pull the flare towards you. The little white pins connecting the flare to the fender will easily come out. Remove any pins that remain in the fender before installing a new flare (whether it's painted, cleaned, or whatever).
You'll want to grab a screwdriver, then check out the bolts inside the wheel well that you can loosen to take off the flares.
To take off the fender flares, you can cut the plastic fasteners and then use a tool to take off the fasteners inside the fender well.
