To take out the headliner in a 2008 Ford Escape, you'll need basic pry tools and a flat-head screwdriver. Start by removing the center dome light cover by gently prying it off. Then, unscrew the screws in the light housing and lower the light. Disconnect the electrical connector. Next, use a trim removal tool to carefully pry off the headliner trim. The headliner is secured by retaining clips, so you may need to apply some pressure to remove it. With the same tool, pry the headliner away from the roof.
