To turn off the maintenance light on your Toyota Avalon, start by putting your ignition key in the 'ACC' or 'LOCK' position. Then, press and hold the trip meter reset knob next to the odometer. Keep holding the reset knob while you switch the ignition to 'ON,' but don't start the car. Continue holding the reset knob until the MAINT REQD light turns off. If your Toyota Avalon has a FOB Ignition (no key), press the start button once. While doing this, press and hold the odometer reset button. The screen will show that the MAINT REQD light is resetting. Remember not to touch any other controls in the car, including the pedals, during this reset process.
