Resetting the oil light in a 2009 Ford Fusion is a quick and simple process. To begin, turn the key to the on position without starting the engine. If your Fusion has push-button ignition, press the button once without pressing on the brake pedal and without starting the engine. For the key ignition, simultaneously press the gas and brake pedals for approximately 20 seconds. If you have a push-button ignition system, hold down the button and gas pedal for about 20 seconds. Look for the message "Resetting Oil" on the display and continue holding down the pedals or button until the process is complete.
To reset the oil light, turn the key in the on position and press both the brake and gas pedals for 20 seconds.
