To unlock the trunk of your Subaru Outback from the interior, locate a small square about one inch in size near the latch. Inside this square is a small white plastic piece that you can push upwards to manually release the latch. In 2002, a regulation was put in place requiring all vehicles to have a standard trunk-release lever that glows in the dark. This lever allows individuals to open the trunk from the inside during emergencies. Tragically, up to 20 people die annually due to becoming trapped in car trunks, which can quickly reach dangerous temperatures. Some victims are abducted individuals, while others are children who accidentally get locked inside while playing in the vehicle.
To open the trunk of your Subaru Outback from the inside, find the release button on the left side of the driver's seat and push it. The trunk will then open and lift up by itself.
If I could locate the button, I would press it. Where can I find the button?
