The diesel exhaust fluid, also known as DEF or AdBlue, is a crucial part of the fuel system in your Audi Q7. There is no way to check the DEF level in between refills, so the suggested approach is to refill the fluid every 10,000 miles during scheduled maintenance. Your Q7 will give you a warning when you are close to running out of diesel exhaust fluid, typically 1,500 miles before it's depleted. While it would be convenient to have a checking mechanism, you have to work with what you've got. Just remember to top off regularly, that's the best you can do.
