The Nissan Versa has a lever located below and to the left of the steering wheel, next to the hood release lever, with a fuel pump icon. By pulling this lever, you can unlock the fuel tank door from the outside of the vehicle. Although it may seem inconvenient at first, you will quickly become accustomed to it. This additional safety feature is designed to discourage gasoline theft by making it harder for potential thieves to siphon fuel from the Versa's tank. This measure is important as fuel theft incidents are more common than you might realize. Additionally, this system prevents the introduction of foreign substances into the fuel tank by mischief-makers, which could lead to malfunctions or serious issues.
The Nissan Versa's fuel filler door is located on the driver's side, to the left of the steering wheel under the instrument panel. To open the fuel-fill panel, pull the release mechanism. Ensure to securely close and lock the fuel filler panel after use.
