If the airbag warning light is illuminated in your 2005 Honda Odyssey, it is crucial to immediately use an OBD-II scan tool to check for any trouble codes being generated. This light could indicate serious issues that may endanger your safety in case of an accident. If you don't have a scan tool, most major auto parts stores can provide this service for free. Additionally, many scan tools offer the capability to reset the airbag light, although parts stores typically avoid doing this due to liability concerns. Alternatively, you can reset the light by shorting pins 4 and 9 on the DLC and turning on the ignition.
To clear the airbag warning light using this method, switch the ignition key to the "on" position (without starting the engine). The SRS indicator will illuminate for two seconds, then turn off. After the light goes off, disconnect the shorting wire to break the circuit. The SRS light will come back on. Keep in mind that resetting the airbag sensor is not advised and may lead to harm.
