In order to change the battery in your 2005 Honda Accord and avoid the alarm from going off, you need to first disable the anti-theft system. If you forget to do so and the alarm is triggered, you will need to reset the system. To deactivate the alarm, simply use your ignition key in the driver-side door lock of the Accord. Turn the key to unlock, then lock, and back to unlock position to complete the process. This should disable the alarm system.
I've had no success trying to reset the system on my 2005 Honda Accord. Both doors are secure and I can't unlock them using the remote or by manually trying. Any tips on how to fix this issue?
I purchased a 2005 Honda Accord that didn't come with keys or a key fob. I had to replace the ignition lock cylinder and the door lock cylinder. The door lock doesn't have a chip. The alarm goes off whenever I open the door, whether I'm inside the car or not, and it's causing my battery to drain and attracting unwanted attention. Can you please assist me with this issue?
So, it didn't work on my 2005 Honda Accord. What should I do next?
Place the key into the driver's side door lock of the 2006 Honda Accord to turn off the alarm. Turn the key to unlock. Return the key to the lock position. Then, turn the key to unlock once more. The alarm will be disabled. Start the engine and allow it to run for at least 10 minutes.
My driver's side door lock is stripped, and the key fob is unable to unlock or turn off the alarm.
I am experiencing a similar problem with my 2005 Honda Accord, as it won't start even after replacing the battery. Now, the indicator light on the key is blinking and the car still won't start, which is incredibly frustrating.
Does the alarm prevent the car from starting? It is a 2005 Honda Accord.
