To reset the oil light on a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, access the car's menu, navigate to settings, select oil, and then hit reset. The oil light indicates the need for an oil change, so if you ignore it, the light will keep coming back. When changing the oil, ensure the vehicle has been off for a few hours to allow the oil to cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug in the engine compartment, position a bucket beneath the plug, and remove it to let the oil drain. Wait until the oil stops dripping, typically for about an hour. Once drained, reattach the plug, find the intake port on top of the oil pan, and fill the pan using a funnel. Fill it up to the full mark, but avoid overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn off. After filling, close the port, clean up any spills, and you're done.
To reset the oil light on the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, simply press and hold the notepad button located to the left of the steering wheel. Keep holding it until you reach the service screen. Once the screen is flashing, press the button again to clear the light.
