To activate the heating element in the side mirror of a Volkswagen Jetta, turn the mirror adjustment knob to the 180-degree position. There won't be a light indicating when the mirrors are heated. The heater will only come on if the temperature is 65 degrees or lower. Leaving the heater on will prevent fogging in the morning and keep the mirror clear as the day warms up. In cold regions, the mirror's defrost feature may need to be left on continuously. If the mirrors don't warm up, check the Jetta's ambient temperature sensor or inspect the wiring and harnesses connected to the side mirrors.
Adjust the mirror settings by turning the dial to the heated mirror icon. In my case, I had to turn it to the right and then rotate it 180 degrees from the top position.
I am familiar with the location of the controls. Could you please instruct me on how to use them?
To activate the heated mirrors on the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, adjust the mirror settings using the buttons on the inside of the door handle.
