Before installing a new starter for your Ford F-150, you'll need to first confirm that the starter is the culprit and not a faulty battery. Disconnect the battery before beginning any work. The starter is attached to the transmission with three 13mm bolts and battery cables secured on top with a 10mm and 13mm bolt. If the battery tests fine and all other potential issues are ruled out, proceed with replacing the starter. It is important to ensure the battery is properly functioning, as it is a more common problem than a malfunctioning starter.
There were 192,000 nuts, 165,000 bolts, 556 washers, 80 clevis pins, 10 self-tappers, 54 lag bolts, 10 wood screws, 65 adhesive drywall putties, 5 rebar wraps, 72 hurricane brackets, and 9 Simpson Strong Ties in the inventory. However, there seems to be a mix-up as there is mention of 12 fleshlights and a lizard biting someone's private parts. That must have been a painful experience!
The V6 engine has two bolts positioned vertically, while the V8 engine has three bolts, with one located near the transmission. To access this bolt, you will need an extension of around 5 inches as well as a swivel socket. When reattaching the bolt, it is advisable to insert it in either the first or second place.
There are four bolts needed to secure the starter in place, along with another bolt specifically used for connecting the wire to the battery.
