In the 2007 Dodge Charger, there is a single fuel pump located within the gas tank. The fuel pump plays a crucial role in transferring fuel from the tank to the engine. If there is a problem with the pump, you may experience reduced power during acceleration, shaking or stalling of the car, or even difficulty starting the vehicle. In case the pump malfunctions, the entire gas tank must be replaced since it cannot be separately fixed. A replacement tank and pump combo typically amount to around $600, with an additional $400 for labor costs. Driving the car with a faulty pump is not recommended, leaving you with little choice but to address the issue promptly.
The Dodge Charger is equipped with two fuel pumps - one located on the driver's side and another on the passenger side. This setup is necessary because the Charger has a unique saddle-bag fuel tank design with two compartments, requiring two pumps for fuel access.
As Roberta Jones pointed out, I only found out that the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T has 2 fuel pumps when I went to replace one of them in my own 2007 Dodge Charger R/T.
From 2005 to 2008, the setup for the fuel system remained consistent. It includes two fuel pumps situated beneath the rear seat - one on the driver's side serving as the primary pump and the other on the passenger side acting as the secondary pump. I recently replaced mine on my 2006 Dodge Charger RT, and it was an easily accessible task compared to other cars where the pump is often in the gas tank.
Just a single one.
Two fuel pumps are installed in a saddle bag gas tank design, with the driver's side serving as the fuel supply to the engine. A convenient feature is the rear seat providing access to both pumps.
The 2007 Dodge Charger is equipped with a single fuel pump that ensures a steady flow of pressurized gasoline to the engine's fuel injectors. This fuel pump is driven by a small electric motor and is positioned inside the gas tank of the car. A regulator is used to manage the pump's pressure and output.
