The 2004 BMW 525i will only come with a 2.5L 6-cylinder engine as standard, with no other engine options available. The oil capacity, including the filter, is 6.9 US quarts. You can use either 5W-30 or 0W-30 oil, but 5W-30 is recommended. To remove the oil drain plug, you will need a 15mm socket, and if using a torque wrench, set it to 25 ft-lbs.
