The larger engine needs 6.4 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oil, with temporary use of SAE 5W-40 conventional oil acceptable. While it's not recommended to substitute oils due to viscosity differences, it's better to run on slightly incorrect oil than no oil at all. Prolonged use of the wrong viscosity oil can reduce efficiency, increase friction, and lead to premature engine wear.
