The Chevrolet Avalanche is known to be a fairly dependable truck, with some drivers sharing stories of reaching over 300,000 miles with their vehicle. While this might not be guaranteed, it's certainly something to aspire towards. Like any vehicle, how well you maintain and drive it plays a significant role in its longevity. If you stick to regular maintenance and mostly drive on paved roads, you can realistically expect to reach around 150,000 to 175,000 miles. Opting for high-quality fluids and giving it exceptional care could push that number to 200,000 or even 250,000 miles. With a bit of luck on your side, hitting the 300,000 mile mark might not be out of reach.

My Chevy Tahoe has driven more than 300,000 miles, and I haven't bothered with changing the oil or oil filter. In the three years I've owned it, I've added over 125,000 miles to it. It burns oil like crazy, so I just keep topping it up.

I absolutely adore my 2002 Avalanche, which we actually purchased back in 2001. Currently, our car has clocked in at 205,608 miles. It is hands down the greatest vehicle ever created. Despite my arthritis and back issues, I have not found a car as comfortable as the Avalanche. It glides over bumps in the road effortlessly and feels as cozy as lounging on a plush sofa. I'm hoping this car will keep going strong for another 20 years because it is truly unparalleled. Even though our car has endured the hot, sunny days and rain in Florida without the luxury of a garage, it still glistens like a precious pearl. The original stereo system continues to produce excellent sound quality. I honestly cannot find a single fault with it, except for the fact that they should have never stopped manufacturing this car!

I've owned my Chevrolet Avalanche since it was brand new, straight off the lot. I've driven it for 800,000 miles on the same engine that came with it from the factory, and all parts are still original.

My 2004 1500 Avalanche has clocked 255,000 miles. Recently, the transmission was rebuilt for the second time, but the engine runs smoothly and quietly like a kitten. I also had to replace the steering gear box and pitman arm, as well as the inner and outer tie rods and lower control arms on both sides. Next up are the shocks for the second time, and I'm aiming to push this 2004 Avalanche for another 250,000 miles.

My 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z71, with 240,000 miles on it, fires up easily every morning. This truck has seen action off-road, towing campers, on hunting trips, and even during tough blizzard conditions. It's hands down the best truck I've ever had.

I've put 220,000 miles on my 2007 Avalanche and it's still running fantastically. It's the best car I've ever had, but it's a shame Chevy doesn't make them anymore. I credit reaching this milestone to using Mobile One oil exclusively and some necessary repairs after hitting 100,000 miles.

I absolutely adore my 2004 Chevy Avalanche. I've been cruising around in it since I drove it out of the dealership in 2004, and it's still going strong. With 327,932 miles on it, it's holding up well with its distinctive appearance, completely dent-free and issue-free. I recently checked its Blue Book value out of curiosity, and I was shocked to see how low it is. It's just unbelievable!

My wife and I have nearly 470,000 miles on our vehicle. She really drives it a lot, but I can't complain. Other than the AC belt and brakes needing replacement, as well as routine maintenance, we haven't had any major issues. We absolutely love our 2002 Avalanche.

Feeling blue right now. Saying goodbye to my cherished 2002 ride. Clocking in at 250,000 miles, still going strong (man, I adore cruising in that truck), but the harsh Wisconsin winters took their toll, and the frame is beyond repair. Hands down the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven, been behind the wheel for five decades!

I have driven my 2003 Avalanche Z71 4X4 for 240,000 miles, but I had to replace the transmission and rear end. Unfortunately, it has been parked for the last month because the rear brake system needs to be fixed.

  • Cory E.

I got 317,000 miles out of my 2002 Avalanche. I drove it to the junkyard, and even though it still looked like new, the frame had rusted. The engine was still running strong. I went home and purchased a 2003 model, which I am still driving today. I really adore this truck.

  • Floyd N

The stock transmission failed suddenly at around 147,000 miles, likely due to the extensive off-road driving I've done.

  • Jeffrey H

I absolutely adore my Avalanche. I own a 2002 model that I bought a year ago with 135,000 miles on it. While the undercarriage has quite a bit of surface rust, the engine and transmission run perfectly. I’m looking forward to keeping it for many more years.

  • Gene W.

My 2003 Z71 truck has racked up 465,120 miles, mostly from driving to work in Ohio. The salty roads have caused some damage to the fenders, but I've kept it running with the original engine. I did have to rebuild the transmission at 285,000 miles, likely from years of trailering my motorcycle to Florida.

  • Esther W

I purchased my 2007 Avalanche from my nephew when it had 250,000 miles on it, and now it has 278,450 miles but is still running smoothly without any problems. I make sure to do regular oil changes, and as long as you take care of it, it will treat you well.

I've got two trucks in my collection: a 2004 Z-71 with almost 340,000 miles and a 2006 2500 with just over 300,000 miles. Both are completely stock. I typically haul over 10,000 pounds with the 2006, and I use it every day for work.

I own two Avalanches - a 2007 model with 632,000 miles and a 2013 model with 311,000 miles. Both are in good working condition and have been well taken care of. The 2007 still has its original transmission.

    Hello there!

  • Betty M

I change the oil in my 2003 vehicle every 3000 miles. So far, it has reached 230,000 miles, with plenty of towing a 7500 lb trailer and some light off-roading. Despite its age, it still runs great with no oil burning or smoking. I believe it can easily go another 100,000 miles. It has faced harsh Northern Indiana winters for the first 150,000 miles and has never been kept in a garage or carport.

  • Cherie F

I absolutely adore my 2002 Avalanche - wouldn't give it up for anything! It has clocked 332,000 miles and is still running strong with the original engine and transmission. I make sure to do regular oil and fluid changes to keep it in top shape.
