In the 2010 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 engine, the oil capacity is 5.7 liters. Before starting the oil change on the vehicle, be sure to let it sit turned off for a couple of hours to allow the oil to cool down. This will prevent any risk of burning yourself with hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket under the plug, then remove it to let the old oil drain out completely. Allow this process to take its time, typically around an hour. Once the dripping stops, replace the drain plug and identify the intake port on top of the oil pan. Utilize a funnel to refill the oil pan to the full level, ensuring not to overfill. It's better to have a little less than too much oil, as overfilling can result in leaks and oil burning off. After topping up the oil, seal the port securely, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
The 5.3-liter V8 engine in the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe has the capacity to store up to 6 quarts of oil.
