Based on feedback from drivers, the EV battery in the FIAT 500e is deemed reliable, with expectations that it could last you anywhere from 10 to 20 years. The actual lifespan might vary based on your driving habits, as frequent use tends to wear down the battery over time rather than the distance traveled. A typical electric vehicle battery may lose around 1 to 2 percent of its capacity each year. While this is a general estimate and not set in stone, some batteries may deteriorate quickly, while others could remain functional for the vehicle's entire lifespan. In most cases, you can anticipate the battery to endure for about a decade or roughly 150,000 miles.
The estimated lifespan of a Fiat 500e battery is around 100,000 miles.
My 2013 500e has 37,000 miles on it and after eight years, I haven't noticed any decrease in range. Even if it's lost 8-16 percent in range, I haven't been able to tell, and I feel like it should be noticeable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays consistent since it's the final year of the battery warranty.
I'm wondering about the cost of replacing the battery on a Fiat 500e. I'm looking to buy a used 2016 model as our second car, and I anticipate needing to replace the battery in the near future. Can anyone provide some insight on this?
Recently, Fiat informed me that my brand-new Fiat 500e will require a replacement EV battery in three years. They are now pushing a service plan that covers three years.
It would cost $30,000 to install a new battery, but opting for a remanufactured one would be much cheaper. However, there is a possibility that the remanufactured battery may not have a long lifespan.
