To reset the light on a 2004 Honda Accord, simply press the reset button on the main console. However, if you don't change the oil, the light will come back on. When changing the oil, ensure that the car has been turned off and parked for a few hours to let the engine cool down. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket under the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain. Let it drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once it stops dripping, replace the drain plug and locate the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full mark, being careful not to overfill to avoid leaks or oil burn off. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
To reset the oil life indicator on a 2004 Honda Accord, start by turning the key to the "on" position. Then, use the arrow buttons to navigate to the "vehicle settings" menu and select it by pressing the "sel / reset" button. Continue scrolling through the menu until you find the "maintenance reset" option. Press the "sel / reset" button to activate the oil life reset mode. Use the arrow buttons to choose "reset" and confirm by pressing the "sel / reset" button. The indicator will disappear, and the oil life will be reset to 100%. Finally, turn off the ignition.
