The reason why the USB port in the Toyota C-HR isn't working is likely because of a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box located under the hood of the car, pop open the hood and secure it. Look for a black box along the right-hand side of the engine compartment with a visible seam. Opening this box will reveal the fuse. The diagram of the fuse allocations can be found on the back of the box or in the car's owner's manual. Once you identify the fuse you need, remove it. A good fuse will have a thin strip of metal connecting the two sections that stick up; if this strip is broken, the fuse is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the metal strip is intact, the fuse is fine and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing around $10.
My device just quit on me out of nowhere. It was working fine five minutes ago, and now it won't turn on at all. I tried swapping out the cable, thinking that might be the issue. My car is brand new, only five months old, so I'm hoping it's still under warranty.
Typically, when the USB port in your Toyota CHR isn't functioning properly, the issue is often due to either damage or debris present within the port.
My car's USB port works intermittently. It recently stopped working completely, and when I asked my mechanic if it could be a fuse issue, they told me these ports do not run on fuses. I'm curious if this problem is covered under the extended warranty. The faulty USB port is the one located under the radio, not the one under the armrest. If anyone else has experienced this issue, I'd appreciate knowing if it's covered for repair. Additionally, the USB indicator on the radio is not highlighted. I'm unsure if this means it's not working or if it's simply not an available option.
My device was not functioning yesterday, but now it is working. The extremely cold weather might have been the reason for the issue.
